Axel Oscar Bachmann

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

He is an outstanding Naturalist who has worked as research scientist of CONICET, as professor of Zoology, Entomology and various courses for postgraduates, and as collaborator in diverse subjects of Biological Sciences at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences of Buenos Aires University (UBA). He has been President of the «Asociación Argentina de Ciencias Naturales» and Director of the journal Physis, also President of the «Sociedad Entomológica Argentina» as well as honorary president of the «V Congreso Argentino de Entomología».
Throughout his career , he has been awarded with several prizes in recognition for his contribution to science, he has directed many research projects, and mentored numerous graduate and postgraduate fellows and tesists, collaborating with generations of other researchers and teachers in biological subjects, particularly in relation with Zoological Nomenclature.
At the moment, he continues teaching at the University as Consultant professor at Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences (UBA), heading a research project, and collaborating in others, and he continues forming human resourses.
