Johan George Betrem (1899-1980)
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Dutch entomologist who worked in Indonesia.
Born: 1899, The Hague, Holland.
Zoologist, educated at Leiden University (Ph. Dr 1928); Assistant in the Entomological Laboratory at Wageningen, 1926-28, and in 1929 Phytopathologist; Entomologist of the Malang Experiment Station in E. Java, 1930-38, subsequently Agriculturist-Entomologist, and finally Head of the Central Java division. After World War II he was evacuated to Holland; at present teacher at the Colonial Agricultural School at Deventer.
Author of several zoogeographical, entomological, phytopathological, and eco-climatological studies.
Collecting localities:
