ANT TAXONOMY

Systematics, natural history, and evolution of ants. Current projects include taxonomic and phylogenetic studies of heteroponerine ants; systematic revision of the genera Blepharidatta (Myrmicinae) and taxonomic studies on the Neotropical species of Probolomyrmex (Proceratiinae) and Sphinctomyrmex (Cerapachyinae). Additional interests include the use of ants as bioindicators and the preparation of a general guide for the ants of Brazil.
