Joseph Kenneth Jonathan

 

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Dr. Joseph Kenneth Jonathan has been engaged in the study of Hymenoptera since 1965 and has published several revisionary papers and monographs on their taxonomy, zoogeography and distriution. In persuance of his research on Hymenoptera, has conducted extensive and intensive surveys to various parts of India.

Dr. Jonathan was awarded Ph.D. degree by University of Delhi, Delhi in the year 1971 for his work on the Taxonomic revision of the Genera and species of Goryphus-complex (Hymenoptera : Ichneumonidae)".

Dr. Jonathan joined Zoological Survey of India in 1973 and has served in various capacities for nearly three decades at the Hqrs. of ZSI. Kolkata. He has also published four important manuals used for various training programmes organised by the Survey.

Dr. Jonathan has retired as Additional Director, in June, 2002, from the Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata.
